CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- One hundred coronavirus cases have already been recorded in Pampanga, according to the May 24 bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH) in Central Luzon.

The Provincial Information Office (PIO), however, reported a slightly lower number at 99 cases for the same period.

The DOH said that some 35 cases have recovered, and this was contrary to the PIO's 61 recoveries. Both the DOH and the PIO confirmed 11 deaths in Pampanga.

Angeles City has the most number of recorded cases at 21, followed by the City of San Fernando at 17 cases.

Mabalacat City and Lubao town both have eight cases each as of Monday, May 25.

Only Minalin, San Luis, Masantol and Arayat have yet to report any known Covid-19 cases.

The number of suspected cases in Pampanga have also breached the 1,000 mark with seven new cases recorded in May 24, bringing the total to 1,017. Of the number, 71 have already died, while 276 are undergoing treatment. At least 251 have tested negative.

Local officials reminded the public to help stem the spread of the virus through frequent handwashing and maintaining social distance.
