Pampanga Covid-19 cases reach 17,906

THE total number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Pampanga since the start of the pandemic has now reached a total of 17,906, according to the latest data from the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH recorded 186 new cases in the province for May 9 alone.

Of the confirmed cases, 15,816 have since recovered, with 1,538 remaining as active cases.

The DOH has recorded 552 deaths in the province since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The province has recorded 2,092 cases in the last 14 days, with deaths from the same period numbering to 39.

Of the 47 health facilities in Pampanga, 850 beds are currently occupied while 425 are vacant.

The occupancy rate for health facilities is currently at 66.7 percent for the total of 1,275 beds in the 47 health facilities in Pampanga.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
