Pampanga Covid-19 cases reach 7,678

THE total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Pampanga has reached 7,678, according to the latest bulletin of the Provincial Government of Pampanga.

The report noted that 533 of the said cases are currently active.

Most of the active cases are from Angeles City with 137 cases, Mabalacat City with 73 cases, Guagua with 42 cases, City of San Fernando with 106 cases, Apalit with 28 cases, Minalin with 28 cases and Porac with 18 cases.

The bulletin also reported 413 deaths from the virus since the start of the pandemic last year.

Of the 7,678 cases, some 6,732 have already recovered.

Pampanga's major cities have recorded the most number of confirmed cases with Angeles City having the most number at 1,757 cases, followed by the City of San Fernando with 1,651 and Mabalacat City with 1,078.

Among towns in the province, Guagua has the most number of recorded cases at 451, followed by Mexico with 331 and Porac town with 318 cases.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
