PAMPANGA Governor Dennis Pineda has started distributing relief goods to Kapampangans who were affected by flooding.

Pineda, together with Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Chief Angie Blanco, led over the weekend the delivery and turnover of 8,000 relief packs to flood victims in Candaba town.

Each pack contains rice and canned goods, which can provide decent meals to families, especially those whose livelihood were affected.

Mayor Rene Maglanque expressed gratitude to Pineda for his quick response in this time of calamity.

"The relief packs will surely be of big help to the affected families, and the presence of our governor will raise the morale of Candabeños who are reeling through the loss of some properties and livelihood," he said.

Candaba is one of those that were severely affected by the flooding caused by Typhoon Ulysses.

As of November 16, 19 of its 33 barangays are still submerged in floodwaters; the deepest is in Barangay San Agustin, which reaches 14 feet.
