Pampanga joins nationwide vaccination of workers on Labor Day

TEN workers in Pampanga have been injected with Covid-19 vaccines on Labor Day to signal the labor sector’s inclusion in the government’s vaccination priority.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Central Luzon, Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of the Infectious Disease, Department of Health and Pampanga provincial government held the ceremonial launch at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in the City of San Fernando on Saturday, May 1, 2021.

At least 3,000 Overseas Filipino Workers and 2,000 employees were vaccinated on Labor Day nationwide.

The workers belonged to the A4 group of individuals who are the next priority to healthcare workers, senior citizens and persons with disability, according to DOLE Central Luzon director Geraldine Panlilio.

The vaccination was “part of honoring workers,” Panlilio said.

Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda expressed his gratitude to all Kapampangan workers who strive to work for their families despite the pandemic.

He also assured them that the provincial government will continue to create and implement programs for the welfare of every Kapampangan.

DOLE offered 6,523 job vacancies from 50 companies participating in an online labor fair on Saturday. (PR)
