Pampanga logs 61 new Covid-19 cases in 1 day

THE number of active coronavirus cases in Pampanga has risen to 402 as 61 new infections were recorded on Wednesday, July 13, the highest single-day increase for the year since the decline of local cases.

Of the 61 new active cases, 51 are from Pampanga while 10 are from Angeles City.

Coronavirus-related deaths since the start of the pandemic still remain at 1,856 according to the official coronavirus tracker of the Department of Health (DOH).

The total confirmed cases in the province have now reached 89,285 cases with 87,027 recoveries. Of the total number of confirmed cases 69,674 were from Pampanga and 19,611 were from Angeles City, according to the DOH.

Pampanga alone has recorded some 382 coronavirus cases in the last 14 days while in Angeles City, 87 have been recorded for the same period.

The increase in active cases has also caused a slight increase in bed occupancy among the 45 health facilities in Pampanga. Bed occupancy is now at 8.7 percent with 59 of the 723 available hospital beds now occupied.
