Pampanga POC approves P40-M for 2019 projects

THE Pampanga Peace and Order Council (POC) allocated a P40-million budget for the activities, programs and projects of the three-year Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan (Pops) of 2019.

This is in line with Section 16 of Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991 which mandates every local government unit to promote the general welfare of their jurisdiction, which includes the maintenance of Peace and Order.

The council approved the programs to improve more the peace in the province, whereas P16 million was allotted for Crime prevention and anti-insurgency; P1.8 million for law enforcement; P7 million for anti-illegal drug programs; P3 million for monitoring of election-related activities; P5.2 million for administrative/secretariat services; P2 million for capital outlay; and an additional P5 million for capital outlay.

This was unanimously approved during the joint city/municipal/provincial peace and order council meeting held at Kingsborough International Convention Center here on November 21. (PR)
