Pampanga records 617 active cases

ACTIVE coronavirus cases in Pampanga have now reached a total of 617 as 12 more active cases were recorded on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, a bulletin from the Provincial Government of Pampanga said.

Pampanga’s major cities still host most of the number of active cases. Angeles City alone has 137 active cases while the City of San Fernando has 150. Mabalacat City has 87 active cases, as of Tuesday.

Towns with a significant number of active cases include Floridablanca with 23 cases, Guagua with 26 cases, Lubao with 29 cases, Mexico with 26 cases, Apalit with 22 cases and Minalin with 28 cases.

Towns with the least number of active cases include Macabebe and Sasmuan with only a single active case recorded in both towns.

Pampanga had recorded some 7,190 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic, with 6,194 having recovered. There were a total of 379 mortalities from the virus in the entire province.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
