THE Vice Mayors’ League of the Philippines-Pampanga Chapter has elected a new set of officials during Tuesday’s (August 13) polls held at King’s Royale Hotel in Bacolor town.

Floridablanca Vice Mayor Michael Galang was elected as the provincial league’s president, while Angeles City’s Maria Vicenta Vega Cabigting and Porac’s Charlie Santos were voted as vice president and secretary general, respectively.

Apalit Vice Mayor Peter Nucom, meanwhile, is the league’s treasurer, while Arayat’s Sixto Mallari Jr. is auditor. Masantol’s Epifanio Lacap Jr. is public relations officer.

The Board of Directors is composed of Vice Mayors Gerald Aquino (Mabalacat), Sajid Khan Eusoof (Guagua), Jay Montemayor (Lubao), Jaime Lazatin (City of San Fernando), Annette Flores-Balgan (Macabebe), Leonora Wong (San Simon), Jonathan Pangan (Mexico) and Norman Lacson (Magalang).

Galang, in his speech, assured fellow vice mayors in Pampanga that the league will have programs and activities that will further propel the legislative measures in Pampanga, benefitting their constituents.

Convergence among vice mayors is also eyed to strengthen collaboration efforts among local government units, especially on sharing best practices on legislation, Galang added.

The Vice Mayors’ League provincial election was chaired by Department of the Interior and Local Government Provincial Director Myrvi A. Fabia with Vice Mayors' League Philippines Comelec members Wilfredo H. Balingit and Reinhart A. Guevarra.
