AGENTS of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Central Luzon and Air Force Intelligence Security Group dismantled a drug den and arrested five suspects in a drug sting on 148 Rene St., Mt. View, Barangay Balibago, Angeles City Wednesday, June 5.

In a report submitted to PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino, PDEA Central Luzon Director Gil Pabilona identified the suspects as Andrew Baruelo (drug den maintainer), 28; Ricardo Baruelo, 59; Albert Rivera, 34; Michael Borja, 34; and Ruffy Laxamana, 30, all residents of Angeles City.

Pabilona said the drug sting was conducted at 12:15 a.m. when agents of PDEA secured a drug deal with Andrew Baruelo for the sale of 10 grams of shabu. They agreed to meet in Baruelo's place where he runs a den.

“The arrest of Andrew led in the discovery and dismantling of his operated den and arrest of his cohorts during their pot session”, Pabilona added.

Confiscated during the operation are 10 pieces of heat-sealed transparent sachets containing more or less 15 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P102,000, various paraphernalia, and the drug bust money.

The suspects are now detained at PDEA Jail Facility, Diosdado Macapagal Government Center, Barangay Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

Violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Acts of 2002 are being readied for filing in court.
