PDEA lauds Customs for anti-drug accomplishments

THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) particularly its Port of Clark received recognition from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Luzon for its interception of 16 drug shipments.

Some P48,702,443.28 worth of illegal drugs and illicit substances were recovered by the BOC in 2021.

This is consistent with the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the BOC under the leadership of Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero and the war on drugs of President Rodrigo Duterte, said Port of Clark l District Collector Alexandra Lumontad.

She vowed that their office will continue to enforce and implement measures to prevent the entry of illegal

drugs in the country.

From January to April this year, the port already recorded seizure of 19 drug shipments with an estimated value of P58-million.

During the recognition, Lumontad received the Plaque of Recognition from PDEA-Central Luzon Regional Director Bryan B. Babang, Assistant Regional Director Martin R. Francia and Chief Clark International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group Joseph L. Samson.

Customs Examiners, Customs Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force, Intelligence, Enforcement and other key personnel with significant contributions on the seizures were also recognized by PDEA.

Lumontad said the Port of Clark is committed to intensifying its anti-illegal drug measures in coordination with PDEA and other agencies to strengthen border control.
