CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Thousands of Filipinos are expected to be out of their houses to visit and honor their departed loved ones in cemeteries for All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

With this, the Police Regional Office-Central Luzon issued safety tips to public to ensure that their houses and properties will be safe from unlawful individuals or any untoward incidents during the long weekend.

Before leaving their houses, the public is advised to ensure that all appliances are unplugged, and gas stoves and tanks are closed properly to avoid fire incidents.

"If possible, refrain from posting on social media that the family is away from home to avoid involuntary inviting lawless elements from victimizing your home," it added.

Police also urged traveling individuals to practice "Blowbagets," or checking of battery, lights, oil, water, brakes, air, gas, engine, tires and self before getting on the road.

Citizens are also asked to be mindful of prohibited items inside the cemeteries such as alcoholic beverages, deadly weapons or any bladed objects, as well use of speakers and any form of gambling.

"This is to allow other people to peacefully pray for their departed loved ones and ensure the solemnity of the occasion," the advisory added.
