Police seize P1M worth of shabu in Cabanatuan

POLICE seized P1 million worth of shabu from a 40-year-old man following a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bantug Bulalo, Cabanatuan City on Friday, April 22, 2022.

The suspect Arnold Cruz Palioc of Barangay Suklayin, Baler in Aurora province yielded the drugs weighing 150 grams during the anti-drug operation.

Colonel Jess Mendez, assistant director of the Nueva Ecija provincial police office, said the drug enforcement unit personnel of the Cabanatuan police station conducted the operation.

Cops confiscated numerous packs of drugs worth P1,020,000 and P1,500 bill used as marked money.

Charges for violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against the suspect.

"Our unremitting efforts to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region once again paid off. Anchored on the guidelines of the chief PNP, General Dionardo Carlos, we are committed to win this fight on illegal drugs," Brigadier General Matthew Baccay, Central Luzon police director, said.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
