PORAC Mayor Jaime "Jing" Capil on Thursday, December 2, issued an order prohibiting all outdoor activities in his town, as well as venturing into the vicinity of Mount Pinatubo.

This was after the Pinatubo Volcano Network recorded seismic and infrasound signals of a weak explosion at Mount Pinatubo between 12 and 12:13 p.m. Tuesday, November 30.

The order, posted on a social media page, states that "the public is advised to refrain from going near the volcano and engaging in biking, hiking, trekking, and mountaineering in Porac’s six villages of Manuali, Sapang Uwak, Inararo, Villa Maria, Camias and Diaz."

Capil added in the order which shall take effect immediately that “Everyone is advised to take precautionary measures and be updated on the issuances of the municipal government of Porac and the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.”

Porac was one of the most affected areas in Pampanga during the Mount Pinatubo eruption on June 15, 1991. (JTD)
