Porac SB honors late councilor

PORAC - The Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Porac conferred a posthumous award to the late Councilor Regin B. Clarete for his service to constituents.

The local council passed Resolution No. 220 which “expresses a heartfelt gratitude and highest commemoration to Clarete who provided significant contributions to the development, progress, and public service in the municipality of Porac.”

It was unanimously approved by SB members and signed by Mayor Jaime “Jing” Capil.

“It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude that we pay tribute to the life and legacy of an exceptional politician gone too soon,” Tamayo said.

“Dakal a dakal salamat pare kung Regin. Salamat keng lugud at gelingan mu. Asahan mu, itang lagyung Regin Bungque Clarete, e ya mawala keng Sangguniang Bayan at e mawala keng pusu ming kayabe mu,” the vice mayor said during the eulogy.

Despite political differences, Tamayo said Clarete made vital contributions to the approval of various developmental projects and activities for the welfare of Poraqueños.

Clarete entered politics in 2010 when he was he was elected as village chief of Barangay Manuali.

He was elected councilor in 2013 and served until 2019, and re-elected as councilor during the 2022 elections.

He passed away on May 23 at the age of 35. He was laid to rest on May 30.
