Porac town celebrates 424th founding anniversary

THE municipal government of Porac celebrated the town's 424th founding anniversary on Wednesday with a thanksgiving mass at the Saint Catherine of Alexandria Parish.

The event was attended by Mayor Condralito Dela Cruz, Vice Mayor DextEr David, and members of the town council and municipal employees.

The event was also marked with the awarding of the town's long-time employees. The service awardees, from 10 years to 36 years in service, were given certificates and cash incentives.

Porac town was established in October 31, 1594 by the Augustinian missionaries. The yearly celebration is a regular working holiday in Porac town.

Classes in all levels are suspended every year to give way to the event.

Dela Cruz emphasized the need to continuously work for the development of the town. (IOF)
