DOZENS of pregnant women in four municipalities received supplies of low fat, high folate maternal milk as Pampanga Province gears up to strengthen maternal health in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

The Provincial Government of Pampanga, through its Provincial Nutrition Committee, led the distribution of five-month supply of high folate milk to 120 pregnant women: 35 women in Lubao, 30 in San Simon, 25 in Santo Tomas and 30 from Macabebe town.

The pregnant women also received breastfeeding cover to protect their newborn from possible infection and facemasks.

The Provincial Government also hosted a brief talk on the importance of nutrition for babies on their first 1,000 days. This is part of Governor Dennis Pineda's adherence to the provisions of the Republic Act 11148 or the "Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-nanay Act."
