SAN SIMON – The tandem of re-elected Mayor Abundio “JP” Punsalan, Jr. and vice mayor-elect Romanoel “Dading” Santos is vowing to direct this third class municipality into a more progressive one.

Punsalan, who garnered 17,078 votes, said he is bound to sustain and further improve programs aimed at developing every Simonian and their municipality initiated by his administration.

Among the top priorities of Punsalan in his reelection will be the increase in funds for educational assistance of Simonian students, continuous fuel and fertilizer subsidy to transport drivers and farmers, and additional social pension beneficiaries.

He also mentioned big-ticket infrastructure projects that are and will be constructed in the next three years such as the vital concreting of the San Simon-Baliwag bridge, the completion of the San Simon infirmary, and the construction of San Simon community college.

Punsalan expressed gratitude to all his supporters who continued to trust and granted him another term for public service.

Meanwhile, Punsalan’s running mate, incumbent Councilor Santos, was also able to win the second highest seat in the municipality.

With 16,058 votes, vice mayor-elect Santos defeated three other candidates namely former vice mayor Rommel Bondoc (14,410), incumbent Councilor Mark Macapagal (5,051), and Jordan Clinton (1,004).

Santos also thanked his supporters and all Simonians who participated in the elections, especially those who voted for him.

Santos vowed to lead the Sangguniang Bayan as the new presiding officer in crafting progressive ordinances and resolutions that will benefit Simonians.
