CLARK FREEPORT -- Dr. Reghis Romero II, a Kapampangan businessman, said he is honored for being a part of the new terminal project at the Clark International Airport (CIA) in Pampanga.

Romero, chairman of the board of RII Builders Inc., said his firm is tasked to do the road network and taxiway at the Terminal 2. The project, he added, costs at least P2.2 billion.

The new terminal, the first hybrid private-public partnership project implemented under the Duterte administration, is already 53 percent complete. The new terminal will be operational by mid-2020.

“This project will be very exciting, especially for the Kapampangans. We are happy that R-II Builders is part of the history,” said Romero.

“It will give tremendous economic growth not just in Pampanga but in the entire country. The public will really benefit from this project. We are very much grateful to President Duterte,” he added.

Romero said he and his people will make sure that their project will not be delayed.

“In fact, we are ahead of schedule,” he added.

The new terminal is designed to handle at least eight million passengers annually.

Romero, along with other businessmen such as Levy Laus and Dennis Uy, attended the site inspection of the new terminal last week. (Chris Navarro)
