AT LEAST four female enforcers of the City Public Order and Safety Coordinating Office (CPOSCO) in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga were deployed for a day in the office’s field operations on information, education, and communication (IEC) campaign on February 10, 2021.

CPOSCO Chief Louie Clemente said this was part of the agency’s advocacy towards achieving gender equality and sensitivity by putting more females in traffic field works that are “performed mostly” by males.

The first phase of the advocacy campaign was held along Lazatin Boulevard in San Agustin where the said personnel distributed IEC materials on required health protocols inside vehicles and imposition of fines on traffic violations in the city.

Clemente said the program will now be regularly held by the office, as part of strengthening its IEC campaign presence among motorists, commuters and the general public.

Female employees at CPOSCO account for only five percent of the office’s total workforce. (PR)
