THE local government unit (LGU) of San Fernando was recognized as one of the finalists for the Digital Governance Awards (DGA) held via virtual platform on October 29, 2021.

The DGA recognizes best practices among the country’s provinces, LGUs, and municipalities that use Information Communication Technology (ICT) “to efficiently deliver its public services directly to its constituents and its business stakeholders.”

City Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago, together with Rachelle S. Yusi, City Human Resource and Management Officer; Avegaille Ferrer, City Information and Communications Technology Officer-in-charge; Joseph Garcia, Business and License Permit Division Officer; Giselle Pineda, City Accountant; Dr. Luz Bautista; City Assessor; and some CICTO employees, represented San Fernando during the virtual awarding.

Santiago congratulated the CICTO and other departments and stakeholders “for their efforts and hard work in helping him make San Fernando a digital and smart city.”

CICTO leads the digital transformation and innovations of the LGU in technological developments, streamline processing, and automated systems such as the Human Resource Information System, Online Business Permit Application System, and others.

The DGA was organized by the ICT Industry Development Bureau of the Department of Information and Communications Technology, in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government and the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines.
