San Fernando joins nationwide earthquake drill

SEVERAL government offices and barangays in the City of San Fernando joined the first quarter simultaneous nationwide earthquake drill initiated by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on March 11, 2021.

The City DRRM Office led the staging of the drill in different villages, City Civic Center, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation building, and Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau-Central Luzon building.

Done online, the ceremonial sounding of the alarm was held at 2 p.m. and the “duck, cover, and hold” steps were performed by the participants.

The nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill is a regular program of the NDRRMC that provides information tools on different safety procedures against the hazards of an earthquake. (PR)
