Sunnexdesk

MORE than 70 members of the Siwala, the official LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community group of the City of San Fernando, received beauty care packages from the City Government on August 6.

A joint project of the City Social Welfare and Development Office and Gender and Development Office, the distribution was part of the social and economic recovery and rehabilitation program for the LGBT community members whose livelihood were badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Each package was worth P25,000 and consisted of several tools to be used in beauty care, hairdressing, grooming, and other salon or barbershop services.

The City also has programs for other members of the LGBT community who are not in the line of salon and barbershop services. These include “bigasan,” grocery, and food manufacturing packages. (PR)
