CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The City of San Fernando Police, together with City Public Order and Safety Coordinating Office, mounted border control checkpoints at the NLEX San Fernando Interchange northbound exit on August 4, 2020.

Lieutenant Coloonel Paul Gamido, city chief of police, said this measure seeks to manage the ingress of motorists coming from Metro Manila and Bulacan, which were placed under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) from August 4 until August 18.

Gamido explained that only those with authorized and official businesses shall be allowed to enter San Fernando, provided that they can show valid identification documents. The checkpoint will be manned for 24 hours and will last until the MECQ in the National Capital Region and Bulacan is lifted.

Currently, the City Government allows an interzonal movement within places under general community quarantine and modified general community quarantine as for essential activities. (PR)
