A BARANGAY kagawad in San Luis town was arrested by local authorities for his alleged involvement in illegal drugs.

Police Regional Office-Central Luzon Director Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon identified the suspect as William Parungo, a councilor of Barangay San Roque in the said town.

De Leon said Parungo is considered a high-value target and has long been under the surveillance of local police.

Seized from the suspect's possession were two medium-sized sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) weighing about 7.5 grams and with an estimated street value of P51,000 and other personal belongings.

Charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared for filing against Parungo.
