San Simon mothers benefit from groups’ relief operation

THE Lugud Balen organization, in partnership with Lion’s Club, recently donated boxes of supplementary foods to the local government of San Simon to boost its relief operations to the residents.

A total of 50 boxes of ready-to-use supplementary food for pregnant and lactating mothers were turned over by the said organization to the local government.

According to Lugud Balen representative Chloe Cauguiran, the food supplement aims to ensure the health of mothers during this time of pandemic.

“This ready-to-eat food supplements are made to address suboptimal nutritional status in pregnant and lactating woman. In this time of uncertainty, our mommies and moms-to-be needs more vitamins to ensure not their overall health, but also of their babies,” she said.

Mayor Abundio Punsalan Jr., who personally received the donations, expressed gratitude to the group their generosity and concern to Simonians.

He added that the food supplements will boost the relief operations of the local government, which aim is to assist all residents, including mothers and babies.

“As much as we can, we want our relief operations to be inclusive, meaning all Simonians including the elderly, the young and mothers will benefit from it because this pandemic not only threatens our physic health, but also our mental wellness,” he said.
