SAN SIMON -- Despite their duties during this pandemic, the local police here continues to implement its anti-criminality drive as it arrested two of its most wanted personalities recently.

This town's chief of police Major Freddie Herry said the two arrested persons who both have standing warrants of arrest were collared in separate operations launched on July 9 and 13, 2020.

He identified the first suspect as Argie Atienza, who was listed as rank 2 most wanted in the local police's Sibat Target Phase III.

Herry said Atienza, resident of Barangay Sta. Monica here, was responsible for a theft incident in 2011, which led to the issuance of his arrest warrant with a bail set at P32,000.

The second suspect, meanwhile, was identified as Tony Avila, 39, a resident of Plaridel, Bulacan.

Herry said Avila was listed top 6 most wanted personality in this town due to his violation of multiple sections of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Herry said the arrest of two wanted personalities should serve as a warning to other lawless elements in town that the local police is serious in its anti-criminality operations.

"We are having no let-up in our operations, whether anti-crime, on Covid-19 response or any other duties that are given to us," he said.
