SBMA holds recycling event

CLARK FREEPORT The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) recently hosted a two-day recycling event.

Organized by the SBMA Ecology Center, the 11th Recyclables Collection Event (RCE) was held at the Mini Golf Course of the Subic Bay Freeport zone.

SBMA Senior Deputy Administrator for Regulatory Group Amethya Dela Llana received used plastic pet bottles handed over by womens’ group representatives from Sitio Malingao, in Cawag Subic town. The said women’s group will be the local beneficiary of the proceeds of the said event.

Dela Llana also received a WEE Collect electronic waste bin from Jovito Adriano, pollution control officer of Royal Duty Free Mall.

Around 30 WEE Collect electronic bins fabricated from discarded refrigerant tanks were turned-over to the agency intended as dropboxes for hazardous electronic waste at strategic places at the Subic Bay Freeport zone.

Used light bulbs, car batteries, paint cans, electronic discards, and even old air conditioners were brought in by various companies and workers during the recycling event.
