SBMA reports possible PUI confined at hospital in Freeport

SUBIC Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) authorities reported Friday evening that a foreign national who is a patient under investigation (PUI) for possible Covid-19 infection is now confined in an isolation facility at the Baypointe Hospital and Medical Center complex.

The report said the PUI, a foreign national with recent history of travel to the United Kingdom, is now exhibiting symptoms like fever, cough, colds and diarrhea.

According to SBMA Public Health and Safety Department officials, they are now coordinating with concerned parties, including Le Charme Hotel where the patient had checked in, for contact tracing.

Le Charme has stated that it has arranged for the disinfection of its property and the isolation of personnel who have had contact with the patient.

SBMA noted that monitoring of said patient under investigation continues.

In case of a confirmed Covid-19 case, the patient will be transferred to Jose B. Lingad Hospital in Pampanga or any referred hospital to be recommended by the Bureau of Quarantine.

SBMA advised its stakeholders to take precautionary measures, especially social distancing and personal hygiene as protectio against the coronavirus disease, to keep the Subic Bay Freeport safe. (Ric Sapnu)
