QUEZON CITY -- Following President Rodrigo Duterte’s fourth State of the Nation Address, the PNOC Renewables Corporation (PNOC RC) has positioned itself to make renewable energy the primary source of energy for the Philippines, earning support from Senator Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao pledged his support by initiating legislative measures in support of renewable energy for the country.

The same support was made during the project presentation of director Albert Dela Cruz last Tuesday, August 1, highlighting the main objective of the task force, which is to make the country less coal-dependent and to switch to renewable energy.

On July 31, PNOC RC conducted a board meeting and approved a new business model to fast-track the approval of a service agreement for renewable energy-related application with PNOC RC as a one-stop processing window.

The same measure was introduced by Dela Cruz and was unanimously approved by the whole RC Board under the chairmanship of Secretary Al Cusi. (Chris Navarro)
