State university gets smart tablets from DSWD

THE Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) received several units of smart tablets from officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

DSWD Central Visayas Director Marites M. Maristela headed the turnover, with key personnel of the DSWD administration offices.

DHVSU president Enrique Baking received the 1,164 smart tablets, which will be used by the state university to digitize their achieves for data gathering and research.

The DSWD regional office used the said units during the second round of assessment of its National Household Targeting System in 2015. The National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) is an information management system that identifies who and where the poor are in the country.

The system makes available to national government agencies and other social protection stakeholders a database of poor families as reference in identifying potential beneficiaries of social protection programs.

The tablets were transferred so DHVSU so that these could be further utilized for digital proposes.
