A VILLAGE councilman in Arayat town was arrested by local authorities for allegedly peddling illegal drugs during a drug bust launched in Barangay Cacutud recently.

This town’s chief of police Superintendent Dale Soliba, who led the entrapment operation, identified the suspect as Willie Tadeo, 44, a kagawad and resident of Barangay Cacutud.

Soliba said that Tadeo has been a subject of surveillance monitoring of his station after receiving reports about his alleged involvement in the proliferation of illegal drugs in this town.

During the operation, Tadeo positively sold a sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) to an undercover agent which immediately led his arrest, Soliba said.

He added that Tadeo peacefully surrendered to arresting officers and is currently detained at this town’s station detention facility as he faces criminal charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, aside from the administrative charges he will face.

Meanwhile, the suspect also yielded three sachets of suspected shabu and the P500 marked money used in the operation which were presented to the court as evidence for the case, Soliba added.
