A VIRTUAL event opened this year’s observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) in Central Luzon.

Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Regional Information Officer Francesca Quizon said a Regional Disaster Resilience Forum was held Thursday, July 2, 2021, that was attended by member agencies of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, local disaster risk reduction and management offices and other stakeholders.

It featured discussions on the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management System and Updated National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan by OCD, as well as Tips in Producing Compelling Social Media Content by Philippine Information Agency Multi-Media Assistant Gabriela Liana Barela.

Local government units are likewise holding their events within their respective jurisdictions.

“For the closing ceremony, we will have a tree planting activity where we will invite a limited number of participants. Although it will be in an open area, we also have to think about the safety of the attendees,” Quizon shared.

This year’s observance bears the theme “Tamang Pamamahala’t Kahandaan, Kaalaman at Pagtutulungan sa Sakuna at Pandemya’y Kalasag ng Bayan.” (PR)
