Guiao: Former Magalang town mayor

Philippine National Police Director General Rodolfo S. Azurin in his recent directive down the line launched a seemingly enviable project named Kapulisan, Simbahan at Pamayanan abbreviated as KASIMBAYANAN.

Upon receiving the directive, Lt. Colonel Benjamin G. Gabriel Jr. OIC Chief Police of the Municipal of Magalang, promptly created a Technical Working Group (TWG) whose main task is to converge and inform prominent personalities within the community with the end in view of organizing Municipal Advisory Council.

Considered as key players came from the different sectors of the community, religious, social, political and NGO.

Hon. Mayor Malu P. Lacson being the local chief executive represented the LGU.

The rules, regulations and responsibilities embodied in this worthwhile endeavor will clear the path to the strong police-community partnership, thus ensuring the emergence of an atmosphere of peace, unity and understanding in our midst.

And more importantly the enhancing of economic growth of Magalang.

To assure the effectiveness of the Municipal Advisory Council all participants signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) after which the oath followed.

During the concluding portion of the activities, Mayor Malu delivered a strong message urging all the signatories in the Municipal Advisory Council to do their part aggressively, so that in the end peace and unity will reign in the town of Magalang.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
