TYPHOON Rosita, which entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Saturday, is expected to make landfall over Isabela-Cagayan area on October 30.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that as of 10 a.m. Sunday, October 28, Rosita has maintained its strength, with winds of up to 200 kilometers per hour.

The typhoon is moving toward northern Luzon, added Pagasa.

Weather specialist Meno Mendoza said in a press briefing Sunday morning that storm warning signals might be raised over the eastern section of northern and central Luzon Sunday evening.

Storm signal number 1 might be hoisted over Metro Manila by Monday evening, October 29.

Pagasa said Rosita will move west northwest toward Ilocos Sur on Thursday, Novermber 1, as it exits PAR.

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned were advised to take appropriate actions, as flooding and landslide in northern and central Luzon are possible. (CLC/SunStar Philippines)
