MIPANAW na sa laing kalibutan ang secretary-general emeritus sa Fiba nga si Boris Borislave Stankovic niadtong Biyernes, Sabado sa Pilipinas.

Ang 94-anyos nga Stankovic nakaserbisyo isip secretary-general sa Fiba sulod sa 26 ak tuig gikan sa 1976 ngadto sa 2002 ug nahimo usab kining sakop sa International Olympic Committee.

Sa 2003 gihatagan siya sa posisyon nga secretary-general emeritus.

Ang kasamtangang Fiba sec-gen nga si Angdreas Zagklis mipahasubo sa kamatayon ni Stankovic.

“On behalf of FIBA, I wish to express our deepest sympathies and pass on our healtfelt condolences to Mr. Stankovic’s family, friends and loved ones,” matod ni Zagklis sa iyang pamahayag sa mga media.

“Boris Stankovic will always be one of the msot important figures in the history of our sports. We are eternally grateful to him for all he did in implementing concrete changes without which FIBA would not be where it is today.” (JBM)
