1 dead, 4 nabbed over drugs in Eastern Visayas in 4 days

A PERSON died and four others were arrested over illegal drugs in a span of four days around Eastern Visayas.

Police in Isabel, Leyte arrested two men in two separate drug busts on July 29.

The arrested suspects were identified as Glegor Juegos, 36, a government employee, and Rosauro Delos Santos, 43, driver.

Confiscated from Juegos during the operation were two sachets of substance believed to be shabu worth P3,400.

Seized from Delos Santos were two sachets of shabu worth P6,800.

In Samar, police and anti-narcotics operatives arrested Carlo Dolenzo, 33, who reportedly availed himself of a plea bargain, and Bianca Branzuela, 32, a laundry hub-washer. They were nabbed in a drug bust in Calbayog City on July 27.

Confiscated from them were two sachets of shabu worth P34,000.

The suspects are now temporarily detained at Calbayog City Police lock-up facility.

The suspects will be charged with violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), while Branzuela will be charged with violation of Section 26, Article II of Republic Act 9165.

On July 26, police in Inopacan, Leyte also conducted a drug bust that resulted in the death of Joel Sumaylo, 45.
