2 farmers escape shooting in Calbayog City

TWO farmers escaped from four gunmen after shots were fired in their direction in Barangay Naga, Calbayog City Wednesday morning, December 2, 2020.

Police identified the victims as Ariel Magbutay, 41, and Arvin Ortiz, 30, both residents of Purok-2, Barangay Naga of the said city.

Initial investigation said the victims were on their way to their farmland when gunmen fired shots in their direction. The victims were not hit.

They then ran towards the barangay proper, according to the report.

Authorities have yet to disclose the motive of the shooting.

Police are conducting a hot pursuit operation after they identified the suspects. (SunStar Philippines)
