2 yield P3.6-M ‘shabu’ in Southern Leyte

JOINT operatives arrested on Sunday, March 28, 2021, two persons over P3,644,800 worth of substance believed to be shabu in Barangay San Jose, Sogod, Southern Leyte.

The suspects were identified as Erwin Avenido and Raphael de Guia, who have been listed as high-value targets.

Combined elements of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Sogod Municipal Police Station, and First Southern Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company confiscated during the buy-bust operation two bags believed to be containing shabu weighing 536 grams.

On Saturday, March 27, joint police operatives in Leyte also arrested two suspected street-level drug dealers and seized P341,200 worth of illegal drugs in Barangay Sta. Fe, Matalom town.

Colonel Rodelio Samson, director of Leyte Police Provincial Office, identified the suspects as John Hifner Bansale, 21, and Alfredo Kilario Jr., 29.

A certain Jerome Cayanong also eluded arrest during the buy-bust operation, according to the police.

The suspects will be facing complaints for violation of the Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Philippines)
