4 nabbed over agarwood wedges

POLICE arrested four suspects for alleged selling of agarwood wedges, locally known as lapnisan, in Tacloban City Sunday, June 27, 2021.

The suspects were identified as Benigno Canoy, Archie Saclolo, Janice Ariola, and Jackquelyn Responte, all residents of Mati City, Davao Oriental.

They allegedly sold five kilos of agarwood wedges worth P50,000 to an undercover operative inside their vehicle around 3 a.m. Sunday in Barangay 97, Cabalawan, according to the police.

The suspects are now in the custody of Tacloban Police Station 3.

The suspect will be facing charges for violation of section 77 of President Decree 705, or the Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines and violation of Republic Act 9147, otherwise known as the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act. (SunStar Philippines)
