Calbayog cops probe shooting of retired court worker

POLICE have continued to investigate the shooting of a retired court employee in Calbayog City, Samar.

The victim, who survived during the incident, was identified as Fernando Mancol, 70.

Initial investigation disclosed that while the victim was sitting at the vulcanizing shop in Purok 3, Barangay Pagbalican on December 3, 2021, motor-riding suspects momentarily stopped and shot the victim with the use of an undetermined caliber of firearm.

Manco sustained a wound on his right leg and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Police have yet to determine the motive in the shooting. (SunStar Philippines)
