POLICEMEN in Eastern Visayas are assured of “equitable health care” through the round-the-clock operation of the Regional Health Service Infirmary inside the Camp Ruperto Kangleon in Palo, Leyte.

Regional Police Director Dionardo Carlos said the infirmary is one of his flagship projects through the Department of Health (DOH) in support to the Universal Health Care, or Kalusugan Pangkalahatan - Health Facility Enhancement Program CY 2011.

"I am really grateful that we can now extend our services among our peers with their dependents and other authorized civilians. With this new development, we assure you that we are 24/7 open and ready to serve," said Lieutenant Colonel Fernando Mercado of the regional health service.

The said infirmary has six authorized bed capacity and one ambulance unit.

“It aims to cater health services to Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel, their direct dependents and authorized civilians,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Ma. Bella Rentuaya, police regional spokesperson.

Health services offered at the infirmary are clinical services, family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, non-surgical obstetrics and gynecology, minor surgery, emergency services, outpatient services, ancillary and support services such as clinical laboratory and pharmacy.

DOH-Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development granted the Police Regional Office a license to operate the infirmary on May 15, 2019.
