Driver shot dead in Ormoc

AN UNIDENTIFIED gunman killed a driver in Ormoc City Saturday, September 28.

Police identified the victim as Romelito Baring, 48, a resident of Barangay Montibello, Kananga, Leyte.

The shooting incident happened at about 5:35 p.m. at Sitio Coob, Barangay Libertad, Ormoc.

Witness Reni Aparejo, 30, common-law-wife of the victim, said that while they were about to ride their motorcycle, one unidentified person approached them and drew an undetermined short firearm.

The gunman then shot Baring, hitting on different parts of his body which resulted to his instantaneous death.

The suspect was wearing long pants, brown jacket, black helmet with dirty white combination, more or less 5'11" in height.

The suspect fled on board a single motorcycle after the shooting.

Police are investigating the incident. (Sunstar Philippines)
