'Drug den' dismantled; 6 arrested in Samar drug-bust

JOINT police operatives dismantled an alleged drug den and arrested six other suspects, including a minor, during a buy-bust operation in Basey, Samar Tuesday evening, October 13, 2020.

The suspects were identified as Paul Wences Medina, Jacob Medina, and Philip Medina, alleged maintainers of the drug den in Barangay Bacubac, Basey town.

Also arrested were alleged visitors Chucky Regala, Kristine Ciara, and a minor.

Purchased and confiscated during the operation were several transparent plastic sachets of substance believed to be shabu weighing MOL 15 grams and with an estimated market value of P102,000, according to a report from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Eastern Visayas.

The suspects are temporarily detained at PDEA regional office detention facility.

They will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Philippines)
