Eastern Visayas cops net 16 most wanted, 186 other offenders

POLICE in Eastern Visayas arrested 16 most wanted persons and 186 other violators following the regionwide simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operations from September 6 to 8, 2021.

“Despite the pandemic that we are all facing, there are still criminalities and illegal activities that transpire. Thus, we in the Philippine National Police are aggressively conducting police operations to address the criminality and other illegal activities,” said Brigadier General Rommel Bernardo Cabagnot, police regional director.

The wanted persons were from different provincial, city and municipal station levels.

While the other arrested individuals were facing cases like illegal fishing, illegal logging and illegal gambling.

At least nine suspected drug personalities were arrested during the three-day operations which led to the seizure of P116,800 worth of illegal drugs.

A total of 22 different firearms were also turned over from kontra boga operations.

Meanwhile, Cabagnot ordered all personnel in the field units to intensify all police operations.

“We are appealing to the public to take their part as peace and order is everybody's concern,” added Cabagnot. (SunStar Philippines)
