THREE members of rebel groups in Eastern Visayas towns have voluntarily turned themselves in to authorities, following the government’s anti-insurgency efforts.

Alias Ador, an 18-year-old squad member of SYP Platoon Sub-Regional Committee (SRC), surrendered in Pambujan, Northern Samar on Friday, October 29, 2021.

In Gandara, Samar, a 27-year-old rebel also voluntarily submitted himself to the police after he was convinced to withdraw support to the rebel group.

In the information released by the Police Regional Office-8, the said rebel “wanted to live a normal life with his loved ones with the assistance of the government.”

On Thursday, October 28, a former member of Regional Guerilla Unit under Efren Martirez command surrendered to the 1st Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company in Baybay City through an intelligence and information operation of the local police.

Alias Jaica, 25, also turned in one unit caliber .22 Magnum with serial number 78095.

Police have assisted the rebel surrenderers for them to avail the national government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-Clip). (SunStar Philippines)
