Fisherman drowns in Leyte

POLICE retrieved on Saturday, February 22, the body of a 67-year-old fisherman, who allegedly drowned off Capoocan, Leyte.

The victim was identified as Rogelio Campuesto, married, a resident of Barangay Talibong, Cabucgayan, Biliran.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim left his house to fish. He left onboard a motorized boat around 7:30 a.m. Friday, February 21.

He failed to return on time, prompting other members of his family to report to Cabucgayan Municipal Police Station that he went missing.

On Saturday morning, the motorized fishing boat was found off Cabucgayan, while the victim was found floating at the sea of Barangay Tolibao in Capoocan town.

The victim's remains have been subjected to post mortem examination, police said.
