French national dies in Tacloban motorcycle crash

A 49-YEAR-OLD French national died on Sunday morning, August 15, 2021, due to “reckless driving” after his motorcycle crashed at the curved portion in Baybay Road beside Talipapa of Barangay 88, Tacloban City.

The victim was identified as Dominique Alain Vialard, single, a resident of Barangay 73, San Gerardo Heights, Abucay in Tacloban.

Initial investigation disclosed that the victim was traveling from Payapay Beach in Barangay 90-San Jose heading toward San Jose national road of Barangay 88 when he accidentally hit the steel fence of the roadside market.

He sustained fatal injuries due to the sudden impact.

Police said no driver’s license was found at the scene of the incident.

Responding unit from Tacloban City Police Office and Emergency Medical Services of the Bureau of Fire Protection brought the victim to the Tacloban City Hospital for immediate medical attention but the latter was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Karl Jed Hernandez, the attending physician.
