LGU employee nabbed for illegal drug possession

POLICE in Southern Leyte arrested on Thursday, September 12, a local government employee in Sogod town during a joint anti-drug operation.

The suspect was identified as Ruel Carpiz, 33, a newly identified drug pusher and a resident of Sogod.

Purchased from him was a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of substance believed to be shabu, while confiscated from him were six sachets of shabu, one cellular phone and P1,000 bill used as marked money.

Anti-narcotics operatives from Southern Leyte and Sogod Municipal Police arrested the suspect around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 12, in Barangay Zone III in Sogod.
