Man shot dead in Calbayog City

MOTORCYCLE-RIDING gunmen shot and killed a 67-year-old man in Calbayog City Thursday morning, January 21, 2021.

Police identified the victim as Harry Rumohr, married, self-employed, and a resident of Narcisa Hills subdivision, Calbayog City.

Initial investigation disclosed that the victim was sitting in the driver's side of his white Toyota Fortuner that was parked at the market area of P-4, Barangay San Policarpo around 6:45 a.m. Thursday when the gunmen appeared onboard a single motorcycle.

The backrider immediately alighted and gunned the victim down several times.

The victim was hit in different parts of his body, causing his instantaneous death, police said.

The suspects fled toward an unknown direction.

Authorities are investigating the incident.

Police earlier reported three other members of Rumohr clan who were killed by still unidentified assassins in Calbayog from 2018 to 2020.

On February 2, 2020, businesswoman Ann Rumohr-Dahlen was shot dead.

Dr. Vicky Rumohr was killed on April 15, 2019, while Catherine Rumohr-Johnson was killed on February 23, 2018.

On February 21, 2020, two other elderly members of Rumohr clan, Emilia and Brenda, were gunned down by still unidentified hitmen in Manila. (SunStar Philippines)
